Acoso y violencia de género en las apps de citas

Actualmente el uso de las apps para citas está en aumento. Ya sea para encontrar una relación formal, casual o amistad, las personas han optado por interactuar a través de aplicaciones como Tinder, Facebook parejas o Bumble. Gracias a la pandemia, el uso de dichas aplicaciones incrementó, debido a que era la opción más viable para conocer personas tras el confinamiento.

Sin embargo, dentro de dichas apps las mujeres nos vemos afectadas debido al acoso y violencia de género que se genera en estos espacios. Si bien, las redes sociales suelen ser un espacio para interactuar y expresarse, muchas personas agreden o violentan a través de estas, puesto que se sienten protegidas detrás de la pantalla. Según datos del INEGI[1] la población usuaria de internet que fue víctima de violencia digital aumentó de 21.0 % en 2020 a 21.7 % en 2021. Y el 22.8 % de las mujeres que usaron internet fueron víctimas de violencia de género.

La violencia de género en espacios digitales se ha propiciado en estas apps ya que los usuarios acosan, agreden e intimidan a las mujeres que las utilizamos. Desde fotos desnudas enviadas sin consentimiento, contestar agresivamente, hasta el acoso por otras redes sociales, son algunos de los ejemplos que millones de usuarias experimentamos día con día.

En mi experiencia al usar dichas aplicaciones he experimentado insinuaciones por parte de ex profesores, o agresiones por parte de hombres que intentan aleccionarme por ser feminista, tener tatuajes, etc. Además, he recibido acoso por otras redes como Instagram o Facebook de aquellos usuarios con quienes no quise entablar una conversación en la app de citas o a quienes les dejé claro que no me interesaba seguir conversando.

Si bien, algunas aplicaciones han implementado medidas para proteger a las mujeres, como es el caso de Bumble, a veces no suelen ser suficientes. Así mismo, los mecanismos de actuación y atención a las víctimas contra dichos actos suelen realizarse en conjunto con las autoridades, sin embargo, el proceso suele ser lento, tedioso y poco eficaz. Es imprescindible crear una cultura con perspectiva de género y un marco legal que respalde a las mujeres en situaciones de acoso y violencia digital, que garantice su seguridad y las acompañe durante todo el proceso sin revictimizarlas.

Sin embargo, no solo es importante el aspecto legal, sino también el social; los hombres deben conocer la cultura del consentimiento, respetar los límites que las mujeres ponemos y no sobrepasarlos. En nuestro país se ha normalizado la cosificación de la mujer por usar apps de citas, los hombres nos sexualizan únicamente porque hacemos uso de dichas plataformas y se nos culpa o revictimiza por estar en dichos espacios.

El hecho de que te planteen insinuaciones sexuales y den por hecho que por usar estas plataformas pueden verte como un objeto para su consumo es alarmante. Si una mujer utiliza una app de citas no le debe absolutamente nada a nadie y es libre de tomar sus propias decisiones sin que nadie la agreda o violente. Todas merecemos ser respetadas sin importar nuestras preferencias sexuales y como decidimos relacionarnos en nuestro entorno.
