El peligro de los discursos de odio en las redes sociales

Actualmente los medios de comunicación tienen un impacto muy relevante en nuestro día a día. Gracias a la tecnología tenemos un mayor acceso a la información, podemos investigar sobre cualquier tema de nuestro interés y obtener miles de resultados.

Sin embargo, el acceso a tanta información sin lineamientos del contenido que se sube a la web puede ser peligroso, puesto que muchas personas suelen propiciar discursos de odio disfrazados de opiniones y generar desinformación en diversos espacios como programas de radio y televisión o páginas de internet, redes sociales, etc.

La ONU (Organización d las Naciones Unidas) define el discurso de odio como “cualquier tipo de comunicación ya sea oral o escrita, o comportamiento, que ataca o utiliza un lenguaje peyorativo o discriminatorio en referencia a una persona o grupo en función de lo que son”. [1]

Este tipo de discursos influyen social y culturalmente, ya que crean una esfera de intolerancia y violencia hacia ciertos grupos o personas, pueden provocar practicas agresivas o segregar a un grupo determinado. Por eso, es importante poner un alto y denunciar a todos aquellos medios de comunicación e individuos que originan dichos discursos. No obstante, uno de los mayores problemas al que nos enfrentamos actualmente es la magnitud y rapidez con lo que los discursos de odio se difunden a través del internet.

Algunos de los discursos de odio más comunes actualmente son en contra del movimiento feminista. La cultura patriarcal a tomado diversos espacios para reproducir sus discursos misóginos e intentar desacreditar el movimiento. Si bien, en ocasiones muchos comentarios suelen parecer ridículos o sin importancia, lo cierto es que generan odio hacia el movimiento y por ende hacia las mujeres. Es así como se origina que individuos ejerzan violencia de género digital y en ocasiones dicha violencia suele traspasar la pantalla, ocasionando que muchas mujeres sean agredidas físicamente consecuencia de dichas expresiones de odio.

Uno de los derechos que se nos debe garantizar como personas es la libertad de expresión, pero eso no quiere decir que se tiene permitido discriminar a otros a través de tu expresión u opinión. No todas las personas deben pensar igual, siempre habrá un sinfín de opiniones y perspectivas, el problema es cuando nuestras opiniones afectan y violentan los derechos de otras personas.
